I got a bunch of good feedback on my post/query about Daisy's apparent attempts to dominate me ... and the consensus agrees that this is what she is trying to do.
I have had a couple of suggestions as to how to communicate back to her (in piggishly-appropriate language), that these attempts are unacceptable, and that *I* am Top Hog.
I will be spending some extra time with her this weekend, so should have a good chance to sort this out (or at least start to) without the usual mid-week time pressures.

In Memoriam: Daisy
Daisy was the inspiration for this blog, which was started to document her progress after arriving at our farm in May 2007. At the time, she weighed 275 lbs, had badly overgrown feet, and was not able to walk without difficulty.
In her seven months with us, Daisy lost 75 lbs, and was enjoying new-found mobility.
Following a sudden, severe illness, Daisy was euthanized Sunday, December 23, 2007. Post-mortem revealed septicaemia of unknown origin.

Hi Alison... Just wanted you to know that one of the first things I do every morning is log on to this blog and see how you two are doing. Thank you for keeping us all up to date.... I really feel connected to both of you... in fact... I need to lose about 50 pounds myself... and I am inspired to diet along with this adorable but weighty girl of yours... I tip the scales at 200...(yikes) and starting today... I'm going to diet too... here's wishing us both luck... we'll see how it goes...

Linda - I'm with you - I've got about 50 to lose myself! If only we had someone doling out limited rations to US the way we do to our animals to keep them healthy!It'd be so much easier!
