Nicky's been here just over a week now, and she's settling in well. She's established a nesting site, in a big pile of hay under the heat lamp. She's figured out the feeding routine, and is getting used to Pig Soup (pellets, veggies, vitamins, and warm water).
I put the measuring tape on her, and she's off the scale, but I guess-timate her at about 275 lbs - which is what Daisy weighed when she came. Nicky seems to be fat-blind, and a little deaf, too. But she gets around much more easily than Daisy did, prob bec her feet are a good length, and she carries her weight more evenly distributed over her slightly larger frame.
Yesterday she enjoyed her first belly-rub (at least from me), and it was HARD to wedge my hand between her belly and the hay underneath! But she really seemed to like it. She is a very sweet-natured pig. The geese in her big pen give her a wide berth - tho she has never been aggressive with them.
