Sneaky little things .... Last night I was in the barn late, cleaning cages, pens, etc. I had fed the trio (Pinky and the two piglets, Toad & Truffle), watching the back & forth dance they all do in case the other bowl had something better in it than their own. Then, I cleaned their big pen, and had noticed a little "dent" in the hay at the edge of Pinky's big sleeping nest. I wondered if the piglets were sneaking in on her when she was asleep.
So, as I cleaned up wet bedding (AGAIN!) after the new (& messy!) ducks, I watched the pigs. Pinky satisfied herself that every smidgen of food had been sucked up, had a big drink, and hung around in case I weakened and fed her more (I didn't), and finally wiggled herself into her big hay pile in the corner.
Sure enough, after a while, the piglets snuck to the edge of Pinky's nest and made their own little nest "in the suburbs". I suspect it won't be long until they are alll cuddled up together. Will try to get photos.
