My daughter, Mei Le (almost 5 yr), got a couple of piggish gifts this Christmas:
The pink piggy purse (the tail is the zipper tab) was a gift from "Santa" at the annual Cornwall Chinese Community Assn Christmas Party. Mei Le now takes it shopping with us, and offers to pay for things like groceries out of the several coins I gave her to put in it.
The stuffed piggy was a gift from my sister, and has been named Oink Oink Piggy Cha Cha (so there!). She has quickly risen to the Top Three of Mei Le's favourite bedtime toys list. She will usually take only one toy to bed - normally Piggy (below) - but now it will be Oink Oink or Piggy ... very rarely someone else.
Mei Le's "big" Santa request this year was glass slippers ("like Cinderella" - how did I end up with such a girly-girl?) - not easy to find, believe me! However, Santa did pretty well (apparently) and Mei Le was thrilled with the result. Even Piggy got to try them on!
