Colorado has become the 4th state in the nation to ban cruel gestation crates and the 2nd to ban veal crates. Signed into law on Wednesday, May 14th, S.B. 201 will relieve Colorado's 150,000 breeding sows from the immense suffering of a being immobilized inside tiny crates barely larger than their own bodies. What's more, it will halt massive hog farms from setting up shop in the state, and it sets a positive precedent for other states to follow.
