Warning: Paintballs Harm Animals
October 26th, 2007
Between 1998 and 2003, forty-four dogs were reported to the Animal Poison Control Center after developing toxicity from ingesting paintballs.
Animals, especially dogs, can perceive paintballs as food and eat them. Paintballs are poisonous to animals, and animal consumption of paintballs can sometimes result in death.
Prognosis
Paintball toxicosis can be potentially fatal however some can recover within a 48 hours period (if supportive treatment has been implemented). But ... the owner must know about the consumption in order to get pet treatments.
