Yesterday my babysitter said she gave Daisy a belly-rub! I thought I must have been doing something wrong, as I had always started by touching Daisy on the shoulder - not wanting to rush her - and she seemed to dislike the contact!
So, this am, I approached her from the side, said "Touch" to warn her I was going to touch her, and stroked the side of her belly - she promptly flopped over and offered her belly for rubbing!
I took advantage of the moment to snip about 1 inch off her most overgrown foot (which she didn't really like) ... but I feel like I made good progress! I suspect that having the Terrible Two around has helped desensitize her to touch somewhat ...
Still planning to do the hammock thing this weekend and get all her feet trimmed up, her face cleaned, and her shots updated.
I noted that she has some slight lesions on her right thigh ... hard to tell what they are from - they are almost in the folds of her skin - didn't notice them before because she has black skin and never really let me get that close before. I will try putting some cream on them later today and see if that helps (Bag Balm, I think). She also needs a good bath ... a wading pool is on my shopping list for this afternoon! (Actually three - one for Pinky and another for the ducks!).
