Thai Papier Mache Pigs

Hold on to your hats for the cutest thing this side of the classroom! Reminiscent of a grade-school class project, but with the professional polish of an accomplished artisan's creation, our positively perky and porcine Mini Thai Papier-Mâché Pig brings warmth, whimsy, and an undeniable joie de vivre to any shelf, desktop, or windowsill. Choose from two vibrant, smile-inducing designs: Spotted or Warhol.

Papier-Mâché -- French for "chewed-up paper", due to its slightly rough surface -- is an art medium that incorporates bits of paper or paper-like materials and a wet paste. The creation is left to dry, then treated with a lacquer...resulting in a surprisingly strong substance. A truly international creation, these precious piggies were designed by Dutch artisan Niloc Pagen, and then made of recycled paper and water-based acrylic paints in Thailand.

Pig sculpture measures approximately 5" L x 2.75" H (12.7 x 7 cm). Designed in the Netherlands. Handmade in and fairly traded from Thailand.
