Thanks to the T&B's Carol, here is an update on two of the Iowa flood sows that will be relocating to the Tusk & Bristle shortly. I am sure they won't know what hit them when they get there and get a taste for "real life"!
This is Mango at the time of rescue (in front). She was pregnant at the time, but lost her litter 4 weeks prematurely due to the stress of it all.
Here is Honey on the day she was rescued in Iowa - all sun-burnt on her back. She is the longest pig. She was so thin and so unhappy. She is still a bit shy but should come around quickly. Like the other gestation sows she is not used to be handled- she is also older than most of the others.
This is Honey at the Farm Sanctuary now - apparently she loves mud:
Many thanks to Carol for opening her facility to these two uprooted souls ... we look fwd to more updates on their new lives.
